Jeremy Browne MP, Council Leader Ross Henley and Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg MP celebrate improvements to doorstep recycling collections in Taunton Deane.

Thousands more Taunton Deane households will have plastic and cardboard recycling collections starting in April. The service is being introduced by Liberal Democrats on Taunton Deane Borough Council and has the strong support of Taunton constituency MP Jeremy Browne. The Conservatives are opposed to doorstep plastic and cardboard recycling collections in Taunton Deane.

Jeremy Browne said:

"Thousands more households across Taunton Deane will have plastic and cardboard recycling collections starting in April. That is great news for everyone who cares about protecting the environment and reducing waste.

"Many Taunton Deane households already have plastic and cardboard recycling collections. The service is being introduced in phases across Taunton Deane. This latest phase will help to keep Taunton Deane as one of the greenest areas in England.

"I have long campaigned for extra household recycling collections and I am delighted that Taunton Deane Borough Council is leading the way with protecting our environment.

"The Conservatives are opposed to extra recycling in Taunton Deane. Their policy is to to spend over a million pounds of council tax money on more landfill while failing to protect our environment."
