How to vote
What is voting all about?
At the election we will choose the person to represent Taunton Deane in the House of Commons. Our Member of Parliament is the only person in national politics who we get to elect.
So this election is our one opportunity to pick a true champion for Taunton Deane who will really work to represent everyone in our community and speak up for us in the corridors of power.
How do I vote?
Firstly, you must be eligible to vote. This means anyone aged 18 or over on 6 May, provided they are British, Irish or a citizen of a Commonwealth country and live in the UK.
Secondly, you must be registered to vote. To learn about that click here.
Thirdly, you must be resident within the Taunton Deane constituency. This covers Taunton and Wellington, as well as all the villages from Stoke St Gregory to Churchinford to Wiveliscombe and to West Bagborough.
Finally, you must decide how you will vote. There are three options; at a polling booth in person, or by Proxy, or via a Postal vote. To learn about postal voting click here.

If you are on the electoral register, you will receive a poll card telling you where your local polling station is and when it is open.
